One of the basic elements of our practice—the investigation of the nature and characteristics of the subsurface materials—is a common thread for our projects. Nearly all of our projects rely on our skills in this area so that the appropriate design parameters and construction considerations can be assessed for the given site. It is therefore important for us to stay in the forefront of new developments and techniques in subsurface investigation and determination of soil characteristics. Additionally, we have one of the most extensive in-house databases of subsurface information, especially for the New York City metropolitan area and Washington DC. This database is an invaluable resource to our clients, especially in the initial stages of site investigation.

MRCE provides a wide range of geotechnical investigation services including:

  • Available information research
  • Borings, samplings, test pits, cone penetration testing (CPT)
  • Condition surveys
  • Diver inspection
  • Geologic survey
  • Field Instrumentation
  • Controlled engineering inspection and vibration monitoring
  • In Situ testing, Geophysical testing
  • Groundwater investigations and pump tests
