Mr. Kaeck is a geotechnical engineer who joined Mueser Rutledge Consulting Engineers (MRCE) in 1987. He became an Associate in 1998, a Senior Associate in 2005 and was admitted to the Partnership as an Associate Partner in 2011. He is experienced in planning and managing subsurface investigations; testing of soils and rock in the laboratory and field; evaluating soil and rock properties and behavior for design and construction; and analyzing and designing shallow and deep foundations, excavation support structures, embankments and slopes, and groundwater control systems and structures. Mr. Kaeck has also prepared expert opinion reports and provided expert witness testimony in resolution of construction disputes involving dewatering and groundwater control, differing site conditions, and building damage.

Analysis and evaluation of dewatering and alternative groundwater control methods for complex building and tunneling projects are Mr. Kaeck's areas of specialization. His experience blends a technical understanding of available investigative tools and analytical and numerical modeling methods for assessment of groundwater control requirements during design with the practical judgment gained from trouble shooting and successful execution of groundwater control during construction. He is well versed in the design and construction of alternative groundwater control methods including: deep and shallow wells, wellpoints, ejectors, horizontal drains, slurry trenches and cutoff walls, deep soil mixing, jet grouting, and particulate and chemical grouting. He co-authored the 2007 edition of J. Patrick Powers' Construction Dewatering and Groundwater Control: New Methods and Applications.
